Rio Star and Ruby Red grapefruit ship in March. Sweet, delicious and full of flavor, these premium grapefruit have a glossy yellow skin and red flesh inside. After 18 months of growing time in the Rio Grande Valley at the southernmost tip of Texas, the harvest takes place from October to April. Winter rains help the fruit grow plump with juice, and daytime temperatures in the 80s stimulate sugar production. After the fruit is harvested from the grove, it is chilled in the cooling room, packed into gift boxes and shipped directly to customers.
