From the Orchards
Welcome Bloggers
After months of anticipation our 2013 Blogger Event has finally arrived, and with it, 15 very interesting people who get to blog for a living. Our morning started out with a Harry & David tour of the orchards with Matt Borman, who is officially our Orchard Director and unofficially the best tour guide ever.
Next up was a visit to our bakery and candy kitchen, where we got a lesson in hand painting chocolate from our head chocolatier, Charlie. Those leaf-shaped chocolates we painted in fall colors looked almost too good to eat. Almost.
Since we’re all about gourmet food we couldn’t just take the bloggers to any old place for lunch. The Déjà Vu Bistro in Jacksonville was the perfect place for a fancy four-course midday meal. And we tried to save room for all the delicious cheese we encountered on our Rogue Creamery tour. It’s pretty convenient to have some of the best cheeses in Oregon right down the street. People from Oregon are always friendly, but the Rogue Creamery employees might be the nicest.
Rounding out day one of the Blogger Event, dinner at The Peerless in Ashland. The perfect ending to a seriously awesome day. Let’s see if day two can possibly get any better.
